Shakey Snake is one of the better examples of effective integration of visual elements, composition, text and overall design. Illustrated by the author's high school-aged daughter, this site has won numerous awards. It is unique in that it prevents a full package of books and activities including a coloring book with printable pages, an activities page with a ``coming soon'' math game and discussion board in which the reader can send email to Shakey and ask him questions. The books tell a very pleasant story of rattlesnake child who simply cannot keep his tail from rattling. The text flows well and the illustrations add to the overall context. |
